Changes

Clearly, it's been quite a while since I posted. But guess what, everyone? I'm really happy.

My life has taken quite a few turns in the past few months, some for better and some for worse - but regardless, I have learned a lot about myself, about people, and about life itself. I'm pretty happy with my little life right now. My day-to-day routine consists of working like crazy, rushing to class and hurrying to figure out the homework assignment I forgot about, and then driving home to find little Z whining at the front door waiting for me to bring her kitty food. Then, I usually wind down with some pasta and whatever show I happen to be into at the time {currently How I Met Your Mother} before falling asleep on the couch or sleepily stumbling to my bed before starting it all over again the next morning.

I have some pretty wonderful people in my life right now. My family is amazing; my friends are the best. I absolutely love my job - I feel very blessed to work with caring bosses and co-workers. My eyes have also been opened to a whole new world of people {for those who don't know, I work at an employment agency called yes - Basically, I help people find jobs. Every day, I work with people from all around the world and all walks of life and I absolutely love it}. It's taught me so much & I've realized how much I have; It's also shown me you never quite can judge a book by it's cover - the people I work with show me that every day.

School is going really well, too! I'm getting my Associate's in Sociology right now so I can transfer to the University of Utah to study Health Promotion & Education. I'm taking 12 credits right now: Social Problems; Marriage & Family; Gender Studies in U.S. Society; & an online Introduction to Music class for my fine arts credit. I'm really loving it and doing really well.

All in all, things are going great. I'm happy. Things are really looking up right now, and even though I know there will always bumps in the road, but life is really so good.

My life is definitely a bit crazy.. & I'm loving every minute of it!

I'm still alive!

Lots has happened since my last quick post.. Brandon & I roadtripped to Seattle! It was totally last minute (as in, deciding-the-night-before-that-we-should-pack-our-bags-&-leave-in-eight-hours -- Literally).. He met all my family up there & I showed him around where I grew up.. We also spend an entire day downtown sight-seeing from the top of the Space Needle, riding the monorail, shopping at Pike Place, walking the waterfront, eating delicious Ivar's seafood, & dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Things have been pretty crazy & busy in my life lately.. I've been totally addicted to my wedding Pinterest board & coordinating ties, suits, dresses, going to dress fittings, ordering straws, pricing flowers, hunting for Target-specific "perfect" cups, & pretty much anything else wedding-related you can possibly think of. Here's a quick inspiration board for a sneak peek into our upcoming wedding!

We also shot some engagements - finally! We'll have our announcements out..... soon! Thank you so much to my wonderful aunt Gina for taking such amazing pictures.. More will be posted soon!

Anyway, I'm going to do my best to post at least once a week.. If not more. Now my life is starting to pick up a little bit and I've gotta keep up with it (including my blog!)

But.. with school, wedding, & family, I can make no promises!

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

So, it finally happened!! Brandon proposed! We walked down to the creek and he pulled a note out of his pocket, almost identical to the one from when we first met.. Only this one said, "Will you marry me? Circle yes or no." He got down on one knee, asked me, & the rest is history! He also bought me a huge bouquet of calla lilies with a big yellow bow and we watched the sunset. Honestly, it was perfect. I'm engaged to my best friend & I couldn't be happier!

I can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with Brandon. I have never been more sure of anything in my life.

“Those who think they know everything annoy those of us who do.”

Well.. Summer school has officially started! In fact, I might be sitting in class right now. Or maybe not. But I probably am. Lucky for me, my "wise" Environment teacher had that quote written on his shirt. It's going to be a great class... (For real, though.)

Things have been really good lately - I've been a little absent from my blog, but I'm still posting within a one-month margin, so I'm still doing better than I usually am, right? Anyway, first: NEW PUPPY. His name is Cooper & he's a Chihuahua/Shih Tzu/Maltese mix. Don't you dare tell me he's not the cutest thing you've ever seen! ... Because just look at him. He's adorable.

(Sorry for the fuzzy picture!)

Also, the "convenience" of public transportation (Namely, Frontrunner & Trax) is not all it's cracked up to be.. We finally DID make it to the baseball game Saturday, but didn't get home until late because we missed the train. Hm. All in a day's work!

Photobucket

(By the way: I highly recommend sitting on the grass at baseball games, at least once in a while.. They're not the greatest seats, but it's fun to lay out on a blanket and watch the game!)

Photobucket
Please excuse that extra pair of legs in the picture.. Whoops.

I'm in love with my best friend, & I'm so lucky.

Photobucket

Well.. As fun as it sounds to walk home a mile in the pouring rain, I think I should go BEFORE that happens.. Don't worry though (because I know you're all SO concerned).. I'll post again soon ;)

Recycle at Rice-Eccles! Go Utes!

Everybody check this out.

Photobucket

According to the website:
Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah produces over 8 TONS of garbage per game with a recycling program that just isn't working. While recycling bins are put out, they are either empty or contaminated with trash. The clean up crews who clean up the stands after the game also don't recycle and we would like to change this. We support decreasing the amount of waste produced at U of U football games and implement recycling into the cleaning contracts!

Click the link above to sign the petition to add a recycling program to Rice-Eccles Stadium. Thanks!
